Why should you Buy Silver Bullion? Silver is known as the poor mans gold. The reason is that you get 63 ounces of silver for ever one ounce of gold (priced based on $15 silver and $950 gold).

At this rate, the poor man thinks he is getting more for his money. It may be only weight, having more ounces of metal but he feels he is getting more for his money. Poor and even middle income people are less experienced in the buying and selling of silver.

When economic times are bad, the middle income and poor are usually the last to know. When they find out how bad things are and that the paper that they are use to paying their debts with is practically worthless, they rush into gold and silver. These things make the silver market more volatile.

Silver Bullion can be bought in one ounce rounds, one ounce bars, 10 ounce bars, 100 ounce bars, or even 1000 ounce bars. The smaller the denominations, the easier it would be to make change for smaller purchases. Making change is an attribute of silver that makes it more attractive than gold.

When you buy silver bullion there will be a spot price which fluctuates with the market price. A premium will be added to the spot price for a final price. When you sell, there will be the spot price minus a charge which makes payment a little lower than the spot price.

After you receive you silver in rounds or bars, you should consider getting a safe deposit box at a local bank. Keeping a large amount of silver or gold at home is not a good idea. A small amount  might be kept at home for safe keeping, but large amounts might become unsafe.

One of the most important things about bullion is that it is already purified to 999% pure silver. Junk Silver, otherwise known as 1964 and earlier US coins is made of 90% silver and 10% other metals to make it more durable in circulation.

When selling pure 999% bullion there is no charge for purifying the metal to 999%. Junk Silver has a charge to the seller for because of the purifying that needs to be done to get to 999% silver.
